In conjunction with The Breman Museum, Jewish Women’s Archive, and a generous grant from The Covenant Foundation, we are offering a 2-part workshop at The Breman on two consecutive Sunday afternoons, February 13 and 20.

This 2-part workshop is limited to 15 attendees.

What will we be doing? This two-part workshop is a hands-on onsite workshop at The Breman in which you will explore artistic ways to honor a woman who has left an indelible mark on your life.

The Breman’s newest exhibition, History with Chutzpah, will inspire us: it explores the themes we want to explore in the workshop—among them, Courage & Conformity, Hope & Survival, Success & Loss, Patriotism & Perseverance, Benevolence & Community.

We will work with a familiar object-- the handbag--or its other forms, the tote, knapsack, satchel, briefcase, etc.—to transform these familiar objects into mixed-media pieces rich with symbolism and meaning.  We chose mixed media because it opens the door for the confirmed non-artist, as well as the seasoned artist, to work creatively.

What more can you ask from two Sundays in February?

We will celebrate our work at a small group exhibition and then at a community exhibition in conjunction with our community partner groups, Jewish Family and Career Services, and The Temple.

This workshop will offer a welcome chance to gather, to be inspired and inspire, to ignite our imaginations, to have some fun--and to honor someone who has mattered in your life.

Register early - The workshop is limited to 15 participants.
