Fifty years ago Eternal-Life Hemschech, Inc., an organization of Holocaust survivors and their families living in Atlanta, erected the Memorial to the Six Million in Greenwood Cemetery. At the time it was only the second memorial of its kind in the United States. In 2008, the memorial was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This exhibition, currently on view in our Discovery gallery, gives guests a limited time view of artifacts and stories that delve into the origin and symbolism of the memorial.
