The Afro-Semitic Experience is a band that offers a powerful and poetic musical experience that celebrates diversity, promotes social justice, and inspires hope and joy. They blend Jewish and African-American music to create a dynamic and energizing sound. The group was founded in 1998 by pianist and composer Warren Byrd and bassist David Chevan and has since expanded to include a diverse group of talented musicians.

The band's music draws from a wide range of influences, including traditional Jewish melodies, gospel, blues, and jazz. Their music celebrates the shared roots and cultural diversity of the Jewish and African-American communities, and their live performances are an exhilarating journey that inspires hope and joy.

Beyond their musical achievements, the Afro-Semitic Experience is committed to promoting racial and social justice and to building bridges between communities. They use their music to promote understanding, empathy, and inclusivity, and have worked with a wide range of organizations and institutions to further these goals.
